Celebrating Our 2024 Service to Education Awards – Honoring a Legacy of Service

Our 2024 Service to Education Awards was a beautiful celebration of community, generosity, and the incredible power of education to change lives.

As we look back on this special evening and the program that captured it, we are reminded of the extraordinary individuals and organizations who share our belief in investing in the futures of the students of the Montebello Unified School District.

This year was especially meaningful as we came together to remember and honor Bill Whitmore, one of the founding members of the MUSD Foundation and our beloved friend. Bill's unwavering love and dedication to the students of the Montebello Unified School District were reflected in every opportunity he championed, every scholarship he helped make possible, and every young life he touched. His passion for education was more than a commitment; it was a calling he embraced with compassion, generosity, and an extraordinary belief in the potential of every student.

Although Bill is deeply missed, his spirit and vision remain woven into the very heart of the MUSD Foundation. His legacy lives on through every student we support, every door we help open, and every dream we bring closer to reality. We honor his memory not only by remembering all that he accomplished, but by continuing the work he loved so dearly.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our honorees, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners whose generosity and commitment make our mission possible. Your support allows us to continue building upon the foundation laid by those who believed that every student deserves an opportunity to succeed.

Most importantly, we celebrate our scholarship recipients. Their determination, achievements, and dreams remind us why this work matters and why investing in our youth is one of the greatest gifts we can give our community.

Thank you for being part of the MUSD Foundation family, for honoring those who helped build our legacy, and for helping us carry their vision forward.

Together, we continue Bill's legacy of service, one student, one opportunity, and one brighter future at a time.
